Canvas Bell Tent Hire


Q. How big does my garden have to be?

A. Our tents need an extra 2 meters of space to pitch safely, so our 3 meter tents require 5 meters to pitch safely.  Our 4 meter tents need 6 meters of space and our 5 meter tents requires 7 meters.  As long as the actual tent is on grass, the extra 2 meters for the guy ropes and pegs can go into soil / flower borders.  Please make sure you have enough space to pitch the size of tent you have chosen to avoid disappointment.  Our normal cancellation policy applies should we be unable to pitch the tent safely on the day of the hire. 


Q. Are there any special preparations that I need to do before the tent arrives?

A.  We ask that you clear the ground of any debris, such as small stones that may damage the ground sheet.  Try and choose a spot that is level, as the furniture sits much better on level ground.  Unsuitable ground on the day would mean that we may not be able to pitch the tent, so please make sure the ground is suitable before we arrive.  If you are unsure, please get in touch with us for more information. Please note, our normal cancellation policies apply should we be unable to pitch the tent on the day.


Q.  Are pets allowed in the tents?

A.  Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in any of our tents.


Q.  Is smoking allowed in the tents?

A.  Our tents are strictly no smoking zones.


Q.  Are we allowed shoes on whilst in the tents?

A.  We prefer if shoes can be taken off at the door of the tent, but we understand that small children may forget at times.  However shoes with heels are strictly not allowed as damage to the deluxe integral ground sheet would be more likely and would result in a loss of your damage deposit.


Q. How do I make a booking?

A.  The easiest way to book, is to fill out the booking enquiry form.  We will then send you an email confirming if your date is available.  You can choose to pay the booking in full or to pay a non refundable deposit of £25, with the remaining balance becoming due 4 weeks before the hire date.  If you are happy to proceed with the booking, we will email an invoice to you.   Payment can be made through the link on the invoice using your debit or credit card.  All payments are processed through the secure payment gateway PayPal.   You do not need a PayPal account to make payment.


Q.  How do I get my FREE party invitations?

A.  Once your booking is confirmed, we will send them out to you. If you book with a £25 deposit, your invitations will be sent to you 4 weeks before the hire date on receipt of the remaining balance.


Q.  Can I cancel a booking?

A.  Of course you can, however, you may be charged depending on the timing of your cancellation. In the case of bookings paid in full at the time of booking, the following cancellation charges apply:-

A party/sleepover cancelled 6 weeks before the arranged date will be completely refunded.

If a party/ sleepover is cancelled between 4-6 weeks of the date, you will be refunded 80% of the hire cost.

Cancelling the party/ sleepover between 2-4 weeks of the date, you will be refunded 50% of the hire cost.

If you cancel your booking within 2 weeks of the date of your party/ sleepover, you will only have 20% of the hire cost refunded.


In the case of cancelling bookings made with a £25 deposit, any refund is based on the amount of time left before the hire date and the same cancellation charges as with bookings paid in full at the time of booking apply.   


PLEASE NOTE: A small admin charge of £5 will also be deducted from any money paid on cancellations.


Q.  Do you supply air beds?

A.  We only supply beds and bedding for our group bookings, such as Wedding accommodation or tent villages.


Q.  I would like a party theme that you don't have displayed, can you do other themes?

A.  Yes we can, if you would like to discuss your ideas with us, we would be happy to see what we can do for you.


Q.  Can I have a party for longer than 2 hours?

A.  Yes you can book extra hours (subject to availability) from as little as £15 per hour.  


Q.  Can you erect the tent at a venue other than my home?

A.  Yes, providing you have permission and the address is within our delivery area, of course we can.


Q.  Do you deliver to my area?

A.  We cover Merseyside,West Lancashire & The Wirral, but can also cover most of the North West Area.  Delivery within 10 miles of Ormskirk is included in the price.  If you would like a quote, please send us an email info@thecanvasbell.co.uk  with your address and postcode.


Q.  What if the tent gets damaged during the party/ sleepover?

A.  Our Bell tents are quite tough, but they will get damaged if care isn't taken when using them!  We ask that you take care of the tent, like it was your own.  Not allowing children to swing on the center pole or jump over the guy ropes, not allowing pets in or around the tents and always remove footwear before entering.  Any damage will be deducted from the damage deposit paid.  We would also like to point out, that by keeping the cash damage deposit as low as £50, you are agreeing to cover any extra costs incurred to repair/clean the tent, should these costs exceed £50.


Q. When do I pay the damage deposit?

A.  A £50.00 refundable damage deposit is payable in cash when your tent is delivered. 


Q.  When will I get my deposit back?

A.  Your deposit will be returned on collection of the tent. Should there be any damage or the need for excessive cleaning, an amount will be deducted from the deposit.

Unfortunately the canvas tents need specialist cleaning, so when excessive cleaning is needed, we have no choice but to charge this to you.


IN THE EVENT OF ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE TEAM WILL DECIDE IF THE TENT CAN SAFELY BE ERECTED.  SHOULD THEY DECIDE IT WON'T BE SAFE, UNFORTUNATELY WE WON'T BE ABLE TO ERECT THE TENT.  IN THIS CASE, WE WILL REFUND THE ENTIRE COST OF THE HIRE. PLEASE BE ASSURED THAT THIS IS ONLY IN THE VERY WORST WEATHER CONDITIONS AND WE HAVE YET TO EVER HAVE TO CANCEL ANY HIRES BOOKED.


By making a booking, you are agreeing to our terms & conditions set out on this page.  All persons who enter the tent or are around the tent are the sole responsibility of you "the hirer".  Please be aware that accidents can happen if children are not properly supervised at all times and that this is you "the hirers" responsibility.
